Unit 3 Push Button Project – Please Stop Asking Me

Appearing to simply be a 24 ounce coffee cup, the Please Stop Asking Me is the conversation canceller. In the bottom of the coffee cup sits an Arduino with a speaker and recording board. Users can use pre recorded messages, or record their own messages using the red record button. These messages can be played via the discrete button hidden on the side of the coffee cup. This device also has a double function of being a cup that users can drink out of. The design is simple with many practical uses in everyday life.

This device could be used to stop conversations from happening that are awkward or to answer questions that are constantly being asked at family gatherings or events. We find in many cases that when one goes to an event the same general questions are asked over and over. This device can answer those questions without the user having to constantly repeat the same sentences because it does the work for them. This device could also be an expression of how in society we have become so busy and overworked that we do not have time to answer simple questions. While someone is drinking their coffee they can also multitask by answering someone’s questions via recordings to improve efficiency in our ever growing schedules.
